Occasion

The depth of flavour, refreshing acidity and gentle tannins make this a fabulous food wine. So many foods to choose from, all types of meats, pulses & lentils, vegetables, and squashes. Roasts, stews, and rich tomato sauces. For all seasons and many occasions from a relaxing dinner to a special celebration.

Refreshing and dry Pinot Noir with delicious black and red berry fruit flavours, and earthy notes. Gentle but definite tannins with oaky spice from two years ageing in French oak barrels. Moreish with a long finish.

Producer Profile

Hanewald-Schwerdt

The family owned and operated estate Hanewald-Schwerdt was founded in 1955 in Leistadt by the grandfather of the current owners, cousins Thomas Hanewald & Stephan Schwerdt. Two of the best young winemaking talents in Germany, they focus on dry wines, primarily made from Pinot Noir (Spätburgunder in German) and Riesling. These handcrafted wines use grapes grown on a unique limestone reef in the shade of the Haardt mountains.
