Chateau Penin

Janne, how2enjoywine’s founder, discovered Chateau Penin through a bottle of rosé enjoyed with a leisurely lunch one balmy summer’s day in France. Now a regular visitor to the estate to pick up wines, it was one of Janne’s top priorities to offer you a range of Chateau Penin’s award winning wines.

The Carteyron family have been producing wine from their estate in Bordeaux for over 150 years. Patrick, who has been running the estate since the early 1980s, is in the process of handing over to the sixth generation in the shape of his two sons, Antoine and Etienne. Having met Antoine in the summer we have no doubt it is in very safe hands.

The estate is run sustainably to high environmental values with HEV certification, the highest level of environmental certification operated by the French government for farming and winegrowers.

At how2enjoywine you can select from seven Chateau Penin wines, one white, three reds, two rosés and the Bordeaux-speciality Clairet (not to be confused with claret). Two of the wines, a red and rosé, are “Natur”, made without the addition of sulphites.

Clairet is between a rosé and a red wine, being a deeper-coloured dry fruity rosé and a super light fruity easy drinking red wine all in one bottle. A super flexible wine, great on its own and delicious with a wide variety of foods.
